
The Gail Borden Public Library was awarded the 2006 Library of the Year Award and the Marshall Cavendish Award.
The library received the 2006 Library of the Year Award "For a spirit of innovation that has electrified the community and redrawn the picture of the public library as a community center. The Gail Borden Public Library has a long history of community focus with the highest regard for those it serves."
The Marshall Cavendish Award is a national award that is given to a school or public library that has demonstrated excellence by providing the commuity with programs that have a big impact on the community needs. The Gail Borden Public Library was recognized for the project "GIANTS: African Dinosaurs, created by Project Exploration" exhibit which showcased six life-sized skeleton dinosaurs, fossils, and interactive exhibits.
